Learning Technology

The Learning Technology team helps support faculty with the technology needs for their online, blended, and face-to-face classes. Included in these services are helping with online teaching and learning, the university’s learning management system, course development, and the appropriate use of multimedia and emerging technologies in learning.

Administrative Computing

The Administrative Computing team implements and supports the Banner Administrative System.

Banner is an integrated University information system. All NLU information - whether it be student, faculty, staff or alumni- is maintained in Banner’s single relational database. Banner provides the processes to handle University business from recruiting through admissions, scheduling, registration, grade reporting, transcript maintenance, alumni tracking, financial aid distribution, finance office operations and human resource functions.

Network & Desktop Services

The network services team plans, develops, deploys, and supports operations for the university network infrastructure. Network connectivity, e-mail services, DNS (Domain Name Services), Citrix connectivity (for access to Banner), and network security are a few of the services supported by the network team.

The team also manages the university’s telecommunications systems (standard and IP-based telephony), its internet service providers, and the campus cabling systems. The desktop service's staff provides on-campus and phone support for the faculty, staff, and students who use the university’s computing labs and computers.

For more information about Network & Desktop Services, please contact John Mazariegos, Technical Director.
