Mission
“To promote membership development by exploring familial harmony, sense of community, empowerment, education, and innovating the voice of students' needs on-campus, through real world experience by working with brothers and sisters of Sigma Beta Theta.”
History of SBT
In the fall of 2013 a group of men and women indicated an interest in starting Greek life at National Louis University. National Louis University is well recognized for a traditional and outstanding education program but never previously encountered the need to serve Greek life on campus. After approaching National Louis administration with the innovating idea to serve the student experience by implementing Greek life, the men and women decided to search for a fraternity and sorority to have on campus. After a few months of researching and negotiating with National Louis University, there was still no Greek life on campus. In January of 2014 those same men and women came together and decided to create a new co-ed multicultural fraternity that will fulfill the needs for National Louis University students and prospective university students. The proposal to bring Greek life was introduced and accepted by National Louis University administration in January. The 3 women and 8 men embarked in a journey of brotherhood and sisterhood together. On February 17, 2014 Sigma Beta Theta co-ed multicultural fraternity was established at National Louis University. On March 2nd, 2014 the 11 founding members of Sigma Beta Theta crossed over and a New Greek organization was born.
