Scheduling Appointments
You must schedule an appointment to meet with a Learning Support Specialist. Appointments are limited to one 1-hour appointment per subject per week. Recurring appointments may be scheduled, but if a total of three tutoring sessions are missed for any reason, future recurring appointments will be cancelled and must be re-scheduled on a week by week basis.
If you are running late, call us as soon as possible at 312-261-3374. When you arrive, you will receive the remaining time in your allotted time slot. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late without notifying us, your appointment will be cancelled, and you will need to reschedule.
If you are seeking academic accommodations, you should contact Peter Ploegman, Learning Support Specialist, at 312-261-3188 or at pploegman@nl.edu for an appointment. All accommodation requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Prepare specific questions to ask the Learning Support Specialist. Bring all relevant materials (textbooks, syllabi, worksheets, assignment details, etc.). Specialists are available to answer questions, discuss and address assignment issues. They do not do the assignment for you or with you. Plan your tutoring session well in advance of the assignment due date as you will need time to incorporate the Learning Support Specialist’s feedback, comments, and suggestions.
