Merryl Brownlow (Ed.D. Educational Leadership '18) is the new Superintendent of School District 128 in Palos Heights as of July 1, following a search that attracted candidates nationwide. Dr. Brownlow was a Keynote Panelist at the NLU 2019 Doctoral Research Symposium held in May at the Chicago Campus.
Scott Grens (M.A.T. Secondary Education '08; M.Ed. Administration & Supervision '12; Ed.D. Educational Leadership Candidate) was appointed as the new Assistant Superintendent of Innovation and Growth for Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205, beginning his duties July 1.
Erin Murphy (C.A.S. Administration & Supervision '08; Ed.D. Educational Leadership '14) was hired as the new Superintendent of West Northfield School District 31 as of July 1, having served Field Middle School as principal for 11 years.
The Manitowoc Public School District in Wisconsin has announced new principals for the 2019-2020 school year.
Katie Eichmann (M.Ed. Administration & Supervision '11) will serve as Associate Principal of Lincoln High School. Katie began her career in the MPSD at Lincoln High School as a special education teacher. For the past five years, she has served as a district program support teacher.
Stacie Opahle will serve as Principal at Madison Elementary School and summer school principal, having served as Principal at Jefferson Elementary School since July 2015. Stacie earned her master's degree in educational leadership and curriculum and instruction from NLU.
As reported earlier, Patricia Jane Ryan (Bachelor of Education '60) co-authored a book, In His Own Words: Charles Orr Ryan, which evolved from letters written by her father during World War I.
