Faculty Spotlight
Associate Professor Kamau Rashid recently presented "The Battle for Nubia: Anderson Thompson's Key Concerns about the Conceptualization of the Role of Nubia, Ancient and Modern" at the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC) - Midwest Regional Conference in Chicago, IL.
As President of the ASCAC Midwest Region, Dr. Rashid delivered the Welcome, as well as Opening and Closing Remarks for each of the conference's three days. Additionally, he spoke at the unveiling of a portrait of the late Dr. Anderson Thompson, which will be displayed in the lobby of the Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies. In addition, Dr. Rashid has also served as the Education Commission Chair of the ASCAC Midwest Region.
