CAEP Accreditation Visit
The National College of Education and Undergraduate College at National Louis University hosted an accreditation visit by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on November 3-5, 2019.
The Visitor Team, assigned by CAEP, arrived from various parts of the country. These seven trained peer reviewers were at the Wheeling Campus to review evidence, verify data, and examine pedagogical artifacts. During this visit, the team interviewed leadership, faculty, mentor teachers, students, alumni, P-12 administrators, and others. Also in attendance during this visit was an ISBE liaison.
Dean Rob Muller reports, "We have successfully completed our CAEP site visit. Thank you to everyone who has supported this work to date. While the final Accreditation Board decision will not be rendered until next spring, we have received extremely positive feedback across all five standards and the cross-cutting standards of diversity and technology."
The CAEP Accreditation Council is the accrediting body of CAEP. It determines the accreditation status of education preparation providers (EPPs). Accreditation for seven years is granted if the EPP meets all of the CAEP Standards and components, even if areas for improvement (AFIs) are identified in the final report of the Accreditation Council.
