NCE Represented at AACTE Conference
NLU was well represented at the 70th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE), held March 1-3 in Baltimore, MD.
Arlene Borthwick, Associate Dean, and Todd Price, Director of Policy Studies, were each awarded a Certificate of Distinguished Service for their participation as outgoing members of AACTE committees. Dr. Borthwick has been Chair of the Committee on Innovation and Technology (I&T) and Dr. Price has served the Committee on Government Relations and Advocacy.
The Preconference Symposium organized by Dr. Borthwick, with the I&T Committee and the U.S. Department of Education/Office of Educational Technology, had over 70 registered. The topic was, "Addressing the Challenge of Integrating Technology in Teacher Education."
Dr. Price was a presenter for an AACTE session on "Putting Advocacy to Work," leading a mini-session entitled "Engaging Students in Advocacy."
Also attending the AACTE Annual Meeting were Dean Rob Muller, Assistant Professor Janet Lorch, and NLU Director of Engaged Research Shaunti Knauth.
