NCE Welcomes Visit from Ukrainian Teachers
Last week, NCE welcomed a group of Ukrainian English Language teachers to the Wheeling Campus. Associate Professor Jason Stegemoller served as the meeting organizer and, together with NCE faculty Xiaoning Chen, Kristin Lems, Antonina Lukenchuk, Mariana Ricklefs and Adjunct Vera Neyman, joined in a discussion with our guests on ESL and Bilingual Education.
The delegates are taking part in the congressionally sponsored Open World program, managed by the Open Word Leadership Center, a U.S. legislative branch agency. The Center’s website is at www.openworld.gov. During visits to the U.S., the group is participating in experiences to improve their educational infrastructure for the teaching and understanding of English, legislative rules, standards and curriculum development, and innovative techniques.
