The focus of the Program Advisory Committee (PAC) for the Master of Science in Human Services Management degree is to share subject matter expertise and program recommendations, and by partnering with National Louis University administrators and faculty, provide regular review and improvement of the program.

The key responsibilities of the PAC members include:

  • Identify current and emerging issues and challenges that impact: The Human Services Management profession, organization trends, and the external environment.
  • Articulate standards, best practices, and emerging trends for the Human Service Management profession.
  • Assist Human Service Management administrators and faculty to understand current and potential student markets for the program and to engage those target markets.

History

NLU’s College of Professional Studies and Advancement (CPSA) launched the Master of Science in Human Service Management program through the generous support of Vince Pettinelli, former chairman and founder of PeopleServe Inc. After Vince’s retirement from the field of Human Services, he remained passionate regarding the need for high quality, well-prepared managers in the field of Human Services. Vince shared his vision for a program that met this need with the leadership of NLU and together they formed an inaugural Program Advisory Committee in May 2016.

The PAC consists of industry leaders who represent a variety stakeholder that include:

  • Private and public sectors professionals
  • For-profit and non-profit organizations
  • Mid- to senior-level Health and Human Service practitioners and executives
  • Teaching professors and/or scholars

Their initial focus was to identify the KEY Competencies students needed and to outline the framework to create such a program. With guidance from the Program Advisory Committee, NLU’s CPSA leadership team completed much of the initial program development work including the hiring of the MS in Human Service Management Program Director.
