Before coming to National Louis University, Chuck Sentell has had many roles in his experiences in the Chicago Public Schools, Dundee District 300, and Glenview District 34: as a k-8 classroom teacher, reading specialist, and literacy coordinator.  In 1990, he was the Recipient of a Golden Apple Award.

Chuck has extensive experience as a K-12 literacy consultant and coach in the following districts: Chicago Public Schools, Cicero School District 99, Gary IN Community School Corporation, Westchester Public Schools 92 1/2, South Holland District 150, and Neah-Kah-Nie Schools in Oregon.
