Karen Lynch is an adjunct professor of psychology in the College of Professional Studies and Advancement. 

She began her teaching career in a Texas, 11th-grade, English classroom. She has been teaching psychology at National Louis University since 2011.  She has been teaching English as a second language through the Congregation of St Joseph in LaGrange, IL since 2004. 

Professor Lynch earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from National Louis in 2012. She earned an M.A. in psychology from National Louis in 2010.  She graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texasin 1980 with a B.S.,double majoring in secondary educationand English with a journalism minor.  She is licensed as an educator with the State of Illinois. 

Her research interests include subjective well-being, positive psychology,and the psychology of aging. 

She is an executive board member for the 501(c)3 School and Tutors on Wheels (STOW), which is a sponsored ministry of the Congregation of St. Joseph that pairs older adult tutors with immigrants for one-on-one aidShe serves as the board secretary for STOW.  Professor Lynch is also certified as a horticulturalist through the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL.
