I’m currently the Dean of the College of Professional Studies and Advancement at National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois. My career in education includes positions as a CPS high school English teacher, curriculum administrator, tenured professor, assistant dean and community college president.

I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Chicago’s Humboldt Park Neighborhood. I’m a proud graduate of the Chicago Public Schools.

My leadership and research has focused on culturally responsive teaching and school-community engagement.

I engage with community and education leaders to promote best practices within college programs to support the retention and success of students at the postsecondary level.
