Mathematics Education Data Driven Instructional Decision Making

I've been at National Louis University for more than 20 years. For part of that time I moved from teaching to administration and have served in various senior academic positions such as the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, Deputy Provost, and Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs as well as serving as the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. In 2009 I was selected as the Interim President of NLU. Before and since serving as an academic administrator I have had the privilege of teaching in both the National College of Education in the Curriculum and Instruction and the Mathematics Education programs. I also taught for many years in the mathematics department of the College of Arts & Sciences. Prior to my long service at NLU I was a teacher and curriculum specialist in the Chicago Public Schools for more than 15 years, and served as the director of computer based learning for Encyclopaedia Britannica Educational Corporation. For a few years I was the CEO of a small educational software publishing company. I like to say I've seen all sides of the educational enterprise; from a student's perspective, a teacher's, a publisher's, and college instructor in a teacher preparation program. Most of all, I enjoy working with students.
