Teaching Philosophy:
When I was a student, I never understood the investment passion provides until I became an instructor. I come from a long list of educators and though I have witnessed their dedication to instructing as a whole, I remained remised to their passion; until now. I have been a part of this incredible institution as an instructor since 2007. Prior to this, I was a student from 2002 to 2006, earning both my Bachelors and Masters.
These past years have seen their trials and tribulation; however, one thing has remained; passion. I am extremely passionate about teaching, learning and facilitating opportunities relating to students and the Psychology and Applied Behavioral Sciences. It is my honor each class to meet such diverse, wonderful, challenging human beings from various journeys to come together to achieve a goal of great significance. Each class brings an energy that cannot be described but needs to be experienced. These beautiful individuals are breaking out of their stereotypical norms to achieve a greatness and empowerment for themselves. Whether I have four students or twenty-eight students the goals and feelings are the same. “I am privileged” to be a small part within their lives yet they have transformed me and my life into a person whom I have wanted to become. I am a better spouse, child, employee, and friend due to the impact I have received throughout my years as an instructor.
I have stated several times, “To make an affective impact on others, one must be transformed by the opportunity to open themselves up for change. We have a responsibility to our students; guiding them through this new journey and without the assistance they will become nothing but a number instead of an asset into a world of endless possibilities.” I wish to continue being a part of these eager minds and with dedication, maintaining open opportunities, and a desire to allow those individual to soar into endless outcome; I can see a great future ahead. It is our responsibility as educators to keep up and to assist and nurture; not for ourselves, but for the future. I am passionate and excited to see what contribution, my contributions, will impact the world and humanity.
