Tina Houdek is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 20 years’ experience of clinical and administrative supervision. Over 25 years of experience in counseling and crisis intervention with youth, adults, seniors and families in a community mental health setting.
She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from George Williams College and has over 30 years of professional experience. She began her career in the greater Elgin area community through funding from the Hanover Township Mental Health Board in 1987 that funded a position as a Sexual Abuse therapist with Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area. She participated in the Sexual Abuse Task Force in the late 1980”s that pioneered the opening of the Children’s Advocacy Center now located in Hoffman Estates, IL. She worked at Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area in a variety of positions and became the Clinical Director in 2003. Through these various positions she had the opportunity to manage several clinical programs and supervise clinical staff including interns.

In 2005 Tina began teaching at National Louis University as an Adjunct Instructor in their Masters of Health and Human Service program. She currently has a half time position as the Clinical Coordinator at Elgin where she continues to teach and assist students in securing internship placements. In 2012 she left Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area after nearly 25 years to work at the Kenneth Young Center where she was given the opportunity to work with them as they expanded services and opened a satellite site at the Schaumburg Township location. At Kenneth Young Center she was primarily responsible for the day-to-day functioning of this location and supervising a team of approximately 10 clinical staff and 2 support /administration staff. She is currently the Clinical Manager at Hanover Township Youth and Family Service where she supervises all the clinical programs, counselors and interns.
