I teach almost all of the classes in the Technology in Education program, including Computer Applications of Hypermedia, Students Solving Problems with Technology, Designing Learning Experiences on the Internet, Engaged Learning with Technology... and more.
I also teach courses in the Educational Foundations area in the history and philosophy of education and in educational policy.

I was born in 1962 to parents Edward C. Cunningham, Jr. and Barbara Gamble Cunningham, in Willingboro, New Jersey, and raised in Connecticut, California, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. Me and my two brothers (Clay and Neil) spent most of our youth in Ewing Township, NJ, a suburb of Trenton. I attended Ewing High School, before leaving in 1979 to attend Lafayette College, where I graduated in 1983. My greatest joy at Lafayette was working on the newspaper, The Lafayette , where I was editor-in-chief in 1982.
I attended Harvard Law School for 15 months before dropping out when I realized I didn't want to be a lawyer. After putzing around for a while, I landed a job teaching math and chemistry at the Hyde School in Bath Maine, where I discovered my passion for education. In 1988, I left Hyde to go to graduate school at the University of Chicago, returning to the Hyde Foundation in 1992 to work on taking the "Character First" concept into public schools. I married Cheryl Wegner in 1992 and our daughter was born in 1993. I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy of Curriculum in 1994 and then became an assistant professor of educational foundations at Northeastern Illinios University in Chicago in 1995. Our son was born in 2001. I left NEIU to work more closely with the Chicago Public Schools at the University of Chicago from 2000 to 2004, then moved to National-Louis University as associate professor in the technology in education program in 2004.
Besides my strong professional interest in educational improvement, theory, and technology, I am also vey interested in philosophy, history, music, art, canoing, kayaking, camping, and in general hanging out with friends.
