Born and raised in the Chicagoland area. Graduated from Loyola intending to be the next Marv Albert, but found out sportscasting wasn’t my forte. Earned my Master’s Degree from Northeastern Illinois University and have been teaching in colleges and universities, both online and on ground, ever since. In addition, I work with autistic children through a school district near where I live.

  • M.A. - Speech and Performing Arts-Northeastern Illinois University
  • B.A. - Communication-Loyola University of Chicago
  • B.A. - History-Columbia College of Missouri

Research and Interests:

Areas of Interest

Media history

The role propaganda has played in manipulating people through history

Teaching Philosophy

The majority of my teaching has been in the area of Speech. There is a saying that the three greatest fears people have are doctors, dentists, and public speaking. Unfortunately, a lot of students feel that third one is the worst. When I teach my class, I not only work to hone their skills, but also to make my classroom as comfortable and engaging environment as possible so they will be able to either overcome or control their speech anxiety.
