Dean of the National College of Education
In 2013, Dr. Stu Carrier was appointed Dean of the National College of Education (NCE) at National Louis University. Dr. Carrier has been a distinguished member of NCE leadership in the Education Leadership department and as a former director of the Florida campus.
The son of a school principal and a military cartographer, Dr. Carrier had stops in the U.S. Air Force, high school teaching and higher education administration before coming to NLU more than 20 years ago. In addition to the critical work he did supporting and engaging doctoral students in the Educational Leadership program, Stu joined his NLU Florida colleagues in working with the Florida Department of Education and six local school districts to expand educators' capacities as school leaders and teacher leaders.
Dr. Carrier earned his Ph.D. and Master’s degree from the University of South Florida and has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His long history with NLU will help him continue to strengthen the day-to-day operations of the NCE while focusing on the growth of the college.
