Health Care Leadership (B.S.)
An NLU Online Degree Program

Program Description:

Health care is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy. NLU's Health Care Leadership (HCL) major is particularly suited to those who are health care professionals with technical and clinical skills who now want to expand their career opportunities by developing management, supervision and leadership skills. Hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and pharmaceutical companies are looking for employees who know how to lead teams, understand an increasingly complex regulatory and business environment, and apply what they learn in the classroom on the job. The HCL program at NLU can give you that career advantage.

How You Will Learn:

HCL is taught using a cohort model, which means you will go through the program with the same group of 12-20 students. NLU graduates like the cohort model because of the shared professional experience and supportive relationships provided by their fellow students throughout the program.
This program can also be taught onsite where you work.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to sharpen your presentation, written and oral communication skills.
  • How to lead and facilitate productive work teams.
  • How to use critical analysis and problem-solving skills to find innovative solutions to problems within the organization as well as the health
    care industry.
  • How ethical and legal issues impact health care.

Where You Can Take the Program:

Online, At NLU’s Illinois campuses in Chicago, Elgin, Lisle, Skokie (North Shore) and Wheeling and at the NLU Tampa campus. On partnering military bases, and off campus in selected locations.
