What is the difference between a liberal arts program and a liberal arts studies program?
Students in the liberal arts programs study a specific subject matter for the duration of their program. In liberal arts studies, students may select from either two major areas of study or one major area of study and two minor areas plus electives. Basically, you get a broader scope of curricula with a liberal arts studies degree and more concentrated curricula with a liberal arts degree.
What type of degree can I earn?
NLU offers English as a B.A. and as a liberal arts major or minor.
Can I specialize in Social Science as a teacher?
Absolutely. If you are preparing for secondary teaching, English is an ideal specialization. In addition, if you wish to teach at the high school level, NLU offers curriculum options to fulfill those requirements.
What is a cohort?
Cohorts consist of a group of 20 or less students who progress through the same program. Cohorts encourage group interaction and enhance the learning experience.
