- How can I become a teacher?
- If you don't have a bachelor's degree, you can earn a BA in Early Childhood or Elementary Education at NLU. If you have a bachelor's non-teaching degree, we offer several areas of study in our MAT program.
- What type of state certificate can I earn?
- You will be prepared to sit for the Illinois Type 03 content exam.
- What is student teaching?
- Students act as practitioners in a classroom setting and are monitored/mentored by an experienced, certified teacher and a university supervisor.
- What is a cohort?
- Cohorts consist of a group of 20 or less students who progress through the same program. Cohorts encourage group interaction and enhance the learning experience.
