Project CARE Plus
Project CARE Plus stands for Citizens Active in Reading Education Plus. This program is an academic mentoring program that has been in place since 1996 and assists elementary grade students in their classroom learning process. More than 200 volunteers work in the schools each week, assisting small groups of students with reading, language fluency or math.
Triton College Access to Literacy Program
Access to Literacy is a non-profit program made possible by a grant awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a division of the office of secretary of state, using state funds designated for literacy. Since 1985, the Access to Literacy program has offered tutoring services to out-of-school adults, age 16 and over, who are reading, writing and computing below the ninth-grade level.
