On this site, you will be able to find information about what Illinois teacher certifications and endorsements are available through National Louis University and links to the information and forms you will need.
Candidates who have completed all program and state requirements are entitled by National Louis University to apply for Illinois state certification. Endorsements are notations added to the certification, permitting the candidate to teach in specific areas.
Please Note:
ALTHOUGH THIS SITE STRIVES TO HAVE THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION REGARDING CERTIFICATION AND ENDORSEMENT REQUIREMENTS, THE ILLINOIS STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION (ISBE) MAY CHANGE THE STATE CERTIFICATION AND ENDORSEMENT REQUIREMENTS AT ANY TIME AND WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. IN SOME CASES, CANDIDATES WILL BE BOUND BY THE REQUIREMENTS IN PLACE AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM RATHER THAN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROGRAM. THE STATE MAY SPECIFY THAT A NEW REGULATION IS IMMEDIATELY APPLICABLE TO ALL CANDIDIATES WITH NO PROVISIONS MADE FOR CANDIDATES WHO BEGAN THEIR WORK ON CERTIFICATION UNDER DIFFERENT REGULATIONS.
Please see the ISBE website for the most current information regarding certification and endorsement requirements.
