Educational Psychology/School Psychology (C.A.S., Ed.S.) Type 73 Certification

The NLU Educational Specialist post-master’s program in Educational Psychology/School Psychology is designed to give you the qualifications necessary to become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).

The NLU Certificate of Advanced Study post-master’s program in Educational Psychology/School Psychology is designed for those of you who are professional school psychologists and educators and leads to Type 73 certification.

The NLU master’s program in Educational Psychology/School Psychology is designed to prepare you for the post-master’s Ed.S. program—which provides you with qualifications necessary to become a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Students applying who hold a bachelor's degree may apply for the master’s program.  Students who already hold a master’s in any area of study can apply for the Ed.S. program

How You Will Learn

Educational Psychology/School Psychology is taught in the traditional model, where students register each term for courses and can take as few or as many as they wish— with faculty advising on the appropriate courses to take at that time.

  • A broad understanding of the legal and professional issues in psychology.
  • An in-depth knowledge of cognition and learning as a social practice.

    NLU’s Chicago campus on South Michigan Avenue occupies five floors of the historic Peoples Gas Building.     Opened in the summer of 2006, NLU North Shore at Skokie is a state-of-the-art modern campus located just off the Edens Expressway near the Old Orchard Shopping Center. The campus includes 44 wireless classrooms equipped with high-tech media equipment; four computer labs with high-speed Internet access, including a walk-in lab in the library; six conference rooms; a public café for beverages and snacks; a student welcome center; a library for research and study; and multiple, comfortable student lounge areas.
