Biography:
Natalie Manbeck, Ed.D., has been a full-time faculty member at National Louis University in the Applied Behavioral Sciences program since 1993. Her research interests have centered around optimizing student learning beginning with her dissertation on student perspectives of non-traditional degree programs for adult students. She regularly presents at national and international professional conferences on a variety of topics. Some of her recent presentations were on adult conceptualization of thinking, the use of metaphors in teaching, transformative learning, brain exercises to improve learning, gender imbalance and differences in the classroom, curiosity and the adult learner, and most recently, student perceptions of on-line and face-to-face learning. Internationally, she has presented her research at conferences in Finland, Scotland and the Netherlands and was invited to lecture at a small liberal arts college in Curitiba, Brazil. Her other academic interests also include: multicultural issues, personality types, student perspectives in education, gender differences, neuro-psychology, and adult education.

Research and Interests:
Dr. Manbeck is currently conducting research on adult student perceptions of on-line and face-to-face learning. Her other research interests include gender differences in learning, and the neuropsychological aspects of thinking, perception and learning.
