Don has over 20 years of experience in managing organizational learning and leadership development. He established his consultancy firm, People Centrics,to assist clients in creating and implementing performance improvement strategies and initiatives. He has an outstanding track record of accomplishments in creative organizational interventions that have energized people, accelerated organizational growth and contributed to stakeholder value. His successive careers -- as a CPA / trusted business advisor, a senior executive in training and organizational development, and Executive Director of Academic Outreach at NLU -- offer clients a rare and unique perspective in the analysis and crafting of organizational performance strategies and initiatives.
As the former Vice President of Training for a Fortune 100 organization, he led a multitude of company wide, people centered interventions to transform the company culture and leadership style. He consolidated all training operations into a shared services department known for customer service, world class quality, and the creative use of interactive distance learning to deliver training programs in leadership, sales, customer service, health & safety, quality, environmental compliance, finance, information systems, maintenance and operations - all at an annual savings of over $3.5 million in training costs.
As a former HR Director in Human Resources for another Fortune 100 organization, he coached executives and managers in strategic planning, effective communications, performance management, incentive and recognition programming, teambuilding, succession planning and associate development. He certified over 100 managers as facilitators of management and leadership learning activities.
Currently, Don is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the College of Management and Business. He continues to offer consulting services through People Centrics.
Don is certified as an executive coach, a faculty developer, a master facilitator, a coach in Team Management Systems and a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer. He has a graduate degree in Management and Organizational Behavior and a bachelors degree in Business Administration. Don completed the Executive Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership and post graduate studies in "Strategic Management" and "Breakthrough Customer Service" at William & Mary and Harvard.
