Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Management and Business
Christopher Cassirer-Malaeb, Sc.D., was appointed Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Management and Business at National Louis University in November 2011. He brings a wealth of experience in traditional non-profit, online and for-profit university management to his role.
Cassirer-Malaeb is the first in his family to attend and finish college and graduate school and was a postdoctoral fellow in public health at the Johns Hopkins University, where he also earned a doctor of science in public health. He received a master of public health degree from Yale University School of Medicine and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Rutgers University.
After teaching at Johns Hopkins University, he was an associate professor and endowed chair of health care management at the University of Minnesota. Following this work, he was an associate professor and director of experiential learning in the master of health administration program at The George Washington University. He then joined Capella University, where he served in several leadership roles, including senior faculty member, faculty director, dean of the School of Human Services and president.
He has led teams of faculty and administrative colleagues, driven strategic and operational planning processes, selected and helped develop new faculty, designed and implemented new academic and professional programs, and worked through the program and university accreditation processes.
