Title: Chief Information Officer
Position summary: Founded in 1886 in Chicago, National Louis University is a private not-for-profit university grounded in the principles of access to education and life-long learning. NLU serves some 10,000 students in three Colleges with programs from the baccalaureate to the doctoral level primarily on five campuses in the Chicago metropolitan area and three other campuses in Southern Wisconsin and Florida. NLU has a highly diverse student body and a long tradition of serving urban, immigrant, and minority populations. Responsibilities: National Louis University seeks a dynamic IT leader for the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO). As the chief information technology professional for the University and reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Administration, the new CIO will provide institution wide technology leadership, vision and guidance for the purposes of aligning Information Technology with the mission, goals, and strategic objectives of NLU. Through strategic approaches and activities, the CIO will develop and deliver information technology, systems and services that are innovative, relevant and advance the goals of the University. NLU is seeking a CIO to oversee the planning, analysis, design and implementation of selected university-wide software applications by working with students, faculty and staff to determine requirements, achieve milestones, and deploy successful information technology projects. The CIO is responsible for the management of the enterprise resource planning system, learning management system, file servicer and networking infrastructure, application software development, information security, user training, micro-computer purchase, installation and maintenance.
Minimum qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor or Masters degree, preferably in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or, a degree coupled with advanced training in the information technology field. The successful candidate must have experience with planning, developing, organizing and managing technology projects, systems and operations. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate a knowledge, understanding and record of achievement in information systems management within a large, diverse, multipurpose institution. Experience within an institution of higher education and knowledge of Banner and a learning management system is preferred. NLU offers an attractive salary and benefit package based on experience.
