Volunteer

8th Annual Diversity MBA Leadership Conference & Awards Gala

September 17 and 18

Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Chicago, Oak Brook, Illinois. 

OPEN TO MBA STUDENTS ONLY. Graduate student volunteers will assist in a variety of programs including roundtable sessions on Healthcare, Technology, Financial Services, Transportation, Manufacturing, Retail/Hospitality, and Supplier Diversity. Volunteers will escort speakers and guests and sit-in on the roundtable sessions, collect survey forms and assists at the Resource Center. In addition, student volunteers will also have their resumes distributed to corporate sponsors such as Kaiser Permanente, Verizon, Colgate-Palmolive, Accenture, Delphi and ComEd.

Position/s – Crisis Liner (Other opportunities are available)

Organization – The National Runaway Safeline (NRS) http://www.1800runaway.org/

Location – Chicago, IL

Crisis Liners are volunteers responsible for answering calls to NRS’ 24-hour hotline and responding to online requests for help. In a non-judgmental and empowering manner, liners are trained to effectively provide support and services. The training program consists of 40 hours of instruction, discussion, and role-plays. All training activities support the liners in learning successful active listening and crisis intervention skills. After completion of training, volunteers are asked to commit 2-4 hours/week for at least a year’s time. Liners must be at least 16 years of age.

Position – School Behavior Analyst

Qualifications – Master’s degree in special education, psychology is required. Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required. At least three to five years’ experience in special education working early childhood through young adults; students across the Autism spectrum; and other special needs students.
