• Develop a structured approach

Make networking work harder for you through preparation, practice and confidence!

Susan Barbee, PHR, approaches a career change like a marketing campaign. Before updating resumes or setting up interviews, she advises clients to gain clarity on what they are selling. After exploring key success factors from CARRS, StrengthsFinders and other tools, a positioning statement is developed to form the cornerstone of a job campaign, and CARR stories are used to write resume accomplishments and answer interview questions. With this clarity, clients find confidence and the ability to convey their unique value to employers. Susan is an HR Consultant who bridges gaps with leadership and program development, talent management and technology. Susan also serves as Marketing and Communications Director at Chicago SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management). Prior to consulting, she was a people and project manager in the publishing industry. She credits her own career transformation to a life changing experience with a career coach. In addition to her own coaching experience, she has a psychology degree and years of experience mentoring employees and coaching students through work and life experiences. –4
