For Employers – 2013 Fall Career Expo
Before arriving, please review the following guidelines and FAQ’s that will address questions about cost (it’s free!), logistics and preparing before your arrival.
Q: Who is the NLU Student?
We are military veterans, parents, pioneers and leaders. We are dreaming about opening businesses, changing communities and giving a voice to those who aren’t always heard.
Q: Why should we attend?
NLU offers new and recent graduates. . . with experience. Our population already knows the meaning of loyalty and accountability. They’ve started jobs, been promoted, or are changing careers. They are ready to contribute and create within your organization.
Q: Should I post opportunities available within my organization before I arrive?
In order to make the 2013 Fall Career Expo the most enjoyable and rewarding for you, we ask that you email job, volunteer or internship positions to Emily Drake at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, October 9. These will be printed and placed at your table for students to review and spark conversation.
Q: What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There are several parking garages within one block of campus. Recommended lots include 17 E. Adams and 55 E. Monroe. Our event is free, but there will be a charge for parking ranging from $15 - $23 for the duration of our event.
Being in "the thick of it all," our campus is accessible by a multitude of public transit options, closest to the Adams/Wabash "L" stop and a 15 minute walk from Union Station. Your best bet is to Google us and see what works for you.
Q: Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Any questions should be directed to Emily Drake, our Employer Outreach Specialist. She can be reached at 312.261.3322 or email@example.com. If you need to speak to someone immediately and Emily isn't available, you are always welcome to call the Career Development Office at 312.261.3270. Our hours of operation are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Q: Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Nope! Save a tree, and rest assured - we will have your information and a name tag ready for you when you arrive.
Q: Will you provide signage and tablecloths, or should I bring my own?
The Career Development office will provide a tabletop sign listing your company name and industry. We have a few plain blue tablecloths for use, but you are encouraged to bring your own materials.
Q: How much does it cost to attend?
NLU’s Fall Career Expo is available at no cost to you. We’re just happy to host!
Q: What time can I arrive to set-up?
The Chicago Campus Atrium will be open and available for set-up at 2 p.m.
Q: I know another company that should attend this event. Can I forward the invite?
Of course! Please use the following URL, or simply forward the invite email: https://nlufallcareerexpo.eventbrite.com/.
