Degrees are awarded four times a year; transcripts and diplomas reflect a diploma date which you select below. Degree finalization is the process of verifying that all of a student's degree requirements have been completed, posting the degree to the student's transcript, and ordering a diploma. This process is initiated after a student submits the following online request and must happen regardless of whether you want to participate in a commencement ceremony. NOTE: If you have already applied using the degree and diploma finalization form, you do not need to do so here; you will be sent registration materials for commencement by your regional commencement office.
After requesting a diploma date, you are eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony in your regional area and you will be given the option to register for the ceremony on the following webpage.
Your student account will be charged the corresponding degree finalization fee ($50 or $35 for re-application). This fee will appear on your account after your request has been processed. You can pay your account balance online through your portal at my.nl.edu, by mailing a check, or at any campus; a payment is always applied to the oldest charge on your account. Students who find they will not complete their requirements by the date for which they have applied may request a change in their degree award date below. If the request for a change in date is made after the original diploma date has passed, a $35 re-processing fee is associated with the request.
A confirmation of your request is automatically sent to the student email address you supply below. Your student email address and NLU ID can be found on the Home tab after you log into your my.nl.edu account.
