Biography

Stephen L. Thompson is an associate professor in social and behavioral sciences and formerly the associate dean for the College of Arts and Sciences at National-Louis University. He has been at NLU for 18 years and had also directed the CPS bridge program and the Gidwitz Center for Urban Policy and Community Development from 2003 to 2007. Prior to coming to NLU, he was a registered respiratory therapist and had worked at several Chicago-area hospitals, primarily in Neonatal Intensive Care. Thompson has written on issues of physician collective bargaining, strikes and also the privatization of public schools.
