Biography

Richard Longoria de Voltair is an assistant professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at NLU. He has conducted research for the Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development in Chicago and for the Laboratory for Student Success in Philadelphia. His public sector experience includes executive oversight of private contractors at the Chicago Housing Authority and research and public relations for the Governor's Office of Smart Growth in Maryland.

Longoria holds a bachelor's degree in political science and public policy from DePaul University and, while earning a master's degree in the social sciences at the University of Chicago, he spent a semester studying at Oxford University in the UK. He completed a Ph.D. in government and politics from the University of Maryland.
