Biography
Dr. Kathleen Sheridan is a graduate in child and family studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a developmental psychologist whose expertise is in children and families. In addition, she is an institutional review team member of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), helping the State to make accrediting decisions regarding educational and teacher certification programs at universities and colleges throughout the state.
At previous institutions, Dr. Sheridan has served as interim president, vice president for academic affairs, dean of academic affairs, program chair as well as a faculty member. She has taught numerous courses in psychology, education, research methods and statistics. Additionally, Dr. Sheridan has a M.A. in education from Washington University with teaching certificates in early childhood and elementary education. Her undergraduate degree from Drake University is in music (applied voice) and she attained a teaching certificate in music K-12.
Dr. Sheridan is also a published author, speaker and has presented at numerous conferences across the United States. In addition, she currently serves on advisory boards and in professional organizations to assist in decision making that impacts student achievement. Dr. Sheridan's current research interests and activities involve the development and creation of online courses for early childhood education students in higher education.
