Biography

Jane Moore was a K-8 educator for 27 years before becoming a teacher educator. Jane is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Association for Death Education and Counseling and volunteers as a grief group facilitator for bereaved children. She creates bereavement quilts with children and families through the Good Mourning Program at Rainbow Hospice in Park Ridge, IL.

Jane'’s work in bereavement began after the death of a student'’s parent over 25 years ago. Her dissertation researched the ways in which teachers responded to the death of a student. She teaches a course at NLU, which she created, “Death in a School Context,” which is taught online.

Jane is the Editor of the Teacher Education Board for MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching). She chaired the MERLOT International Conference in 2009. Her work with MERLOT has developed her knowledge of technology and how it can be integrated into teaching and learning.

Jane also works with schools and teachers to develop mathematics education that is meaningful and engaging. She has been teaching online since 2002 and is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
