Biography
Ellen McMahon has been a full-time faculty member within the College of Management and Business since 1989. While McMahon served the college twice as interim dean in 1992 and in 2002, she is committed to teaching and in 2002 received the NLU Faculty Association’s Excellence in Teaching Award. Her academic interests are in the pedagogy of distance education and exploring ways to use technology to support pedagogy. She is also active in international education with strong ties to WSB-NLU in Nowy Sacz, Poland and several small local universities in Bosnia.
She spent part of the 2005-2006 academic year as a Fulbright Scholar teaching at the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Economics in Bosnia Herzegovina; and returned there in 2007 to continue work she began as a Fulbright Teaching Scholar. She is now part of the peer review committee that reviews Fulbright applications for the Balkan and Baltic countries. She is on the editorial board of the SEE (Southeastern European Economic) Journal published by the Economics Faculty of the University of Sarajevo.
