Biography

Charlie Tocci has spent the past decade working in and researching urban schools. He is currently assistant professor in the secondary education department at National-Louis. Prior to joining the NLU faculty, Charlie was a senior research associate at the National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools, and Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to that, he taught high school social studies at South Shore Community Academy in Chicago. Charlie's research includes investigation of the history of grades (as in A, B, C's) in order to better understand current reform efforts centering on assessment and testing.
