Biography
Anna Marie Yates, Ph.D., NCC, LPC is an assistant professor at National-Louis University in the Counseling and Human Services Department and has over twenty-five years of school counseling experience. She is the Illinois Team Chair for completing the Second Edition of Developmental Counseling Model for Illinois Schools (The Illinois Model). Dr. Yates is past president of the Illinois Career Development Association, the Illinois Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education, and the Illinois Association for Adult Development and Aging. She is past president of the Northwest Suburban Illinois Counseling Association. Dr. Yates is currently the faculty sponsor for the National-Louis University Counseling Association Chapter.
For fifteen years, Dr. Yates served as the Illinois coordinator for National Career Development Month. Her outreach to the community involves the coordination of the Rainbows Program to help those who have experienced grief or loss. She has been a presenter at many state and national conferences. Most recently, she was a co-presenter at two Illinois School Counseling Association (ISCA) state conferences: April 17, 2009 and April 24, 2009. Dr. Yates was named Illinois High School Counselor of the year twice...most recently in 2006.
