Spring 2012 Term!

Math Ed. courses for elementary, pre-service & K-8 teachers offered at scholarship rate!

Both MHE450 and MHE501 will be offered during the spring 2012 term at the reduced tuition rate of $350.00 per semester hour. MHE450 and MHE501 are each 3 semester hour graduate courses that pre-service and elementary teachers find useful in developing and improving their mathematics proficiency. Each course can be used to eliminate a general education mathematics deficiency and also may be used for a math endorsement.


MHE450 | Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers

addresses the concepts of a comprehensive elementary and middle school mathematics curriculum through reasoning and problem solving in the areas of patterns, number, geometry, measurement, data and chance. MHE450 is an option for the Middle School Math Endorsement. MHE450 will be on the Chicago Campus (CRN 30683), Thursdays, beginning April 5 through June 14, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.


MHE501 | Topics in Mathematics for Teachers: Number Concepts and Operations in the Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Curriculum

addresses the concepts of number and its operations as they occur in a comprehensive elementary and middle school mathematics curriculum. Reasoning, problem solving, and technology will be used in the areas of geometry, measurement, data and chance. MHE501 is an option for the Middle School Math Endorsement. MHE501 will be on the Lisle Campus (CRN 30684), Mondays, beginning April 2 through June 11, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Registration

To register for these courses, obtain a graduate registration form at the Registrar's Office or register online. Complete the form and register at any student services center. If paying by credit card, you may fax your registration to the Registrar at 847.465.4746, beginning February 20, 2012.
