This workshop takes a fresh look — with an eye on the Common Core State Standards — at key critical-thinking skills, concepts, and strategies associated with helping students become successful problem solvers. Participants will be actively engaged working in small groups.

In this workshop, participants engage in hands-on, minds-on activities designed to motivate students and make skills and concepts from each domain of the Common Core State Standards more accessible to them. Participants learn how to make traditional mathematics topics more interesting through the use of manipulatives, real-world activities, and authentic assessment.
