I Haven't Earned Any College Credit Yet and This Will Be My First Time in College.

NLU faculty and staff have been helping "new-to-college" students since 1886. We have a long and proud history of providing outstanding student service because we understand the needs of our busy student body. This history has created a reputation for NLU as being a place where you can succeed.

So, if you are ready to start your college education, the NLU team is here to help you every step of the way.

Can You Cut It? You Bet.

NLU faculty and staff know what it takes for people like you with families, jobs and other responsibilities to make the decision to get your degree. And they understand you have a lot on your plate—from childcare and commuting to wondering if you'll be able to pay for it all. Can you cut it? You bet you can—and you probably have more skills than you realize to be successful in college. We'll also put you in touch with other NLU students just like you who made it through and got their degree.

You may already be farther along than you think in your college career. Find out from your NLU ADVISOR if you can get credit for what you already know through the MY NLU C.R.E.D.I.T. program.

COLLEGE-LEVEL EXAMS: (CLEP (College-Level Examination Program); Advanced Placement (AP) and the American College Testing Program (ACT-PEP)
REAL LIFE LEARNING from EXPERIENCE (including military work experience)
DANTES SUBJECT STANDARDIZED TESTS

TRANSFER CREDIT (including other colleges, community colleges, and military-specific schools: (AARTS, SMARTS and CCAF).

NLU has teamed up with our community college partners to help you transfer the credits you have already earned—so that you can earn your bachelor's degree in the shortest time possible.
