Scholarships

What is a Scholarship?

A scholarship is financial aid that you do not have to pay back. It is an award that is applied directly to tuition and other educational costs. Scholarships are either merit-based or need-based. Merit-based scholarships are awarded on the strength of your academic record in high school and college. Need-based scholarships are awarded to qualified students who demonstrate the most need for financial assistance to help afford college. Please note that some scholarships are also limited to students in a specific degree program or field.

NLU Scholarships

National Louis University awards the following scholarships to qualified transfer students and undergraduate day students, as well as graduate students in the National College of Education. You don’t need to apply separately for most of these scholarships. They are automatically awarded based on the information in your admissions application. Please note that all NLU resources are limited to 25% of the tuition charges assessed per term. NLU Scholarships can only be used to cover tuition costs and are not refundable to the student. Students who receive additional resources that cover tuition costs, such as employer reimbursement or outside scholarships, may not be eligible for these awards.
