Scholarships

Scholarships recognize your academic achievement, unique attributes or contributions to the community and are also a great way to make college more affordable. Unlike student loans, they do not have to be re-paid upon graduation. Take advantage of the scholarship opportunities available through NLU, the government and other organizations.

NLU-funded scholarships include:

• Academic Achievement

• Transfer Recognition
• Phi Theta Kappa
• Merit-Based Donor
• Doctoral

Scholarship opportunities specifically for students pursuing teaching degrees, include:

• Illinois Future Teacher Corps (IFTC) Program
• Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program

Other scholarship opportunities include:

• Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois Award
• The Wasie Scholarship Program
• Susan Wyatt Memorial WIM Scholarship

Grants

Grants are based on need, don’t have to be repaid and are only available to eligible undergraduate students. NLU offers four types of grants:

• Federal Pell Grant
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) 
• Illinois State Monetary Award Program (MAP)—A grant from the State of Illinois for eligible Illinois resident undergraduate students
• NLU Grant—A grant funded by National-Louis University
