Created specifically for students pursuing teaching degrees, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) offers the following:

Illinois Future Teacher (IFTC) Program Scholarship

Designed for academically talented students with demonstrated financial need who want to teach preschool, elemetary or secondary eduation in Illinois. This scholarship program gives priority to individuals who pursue a teacher-shortage discipline, make a commitment to teach at a hard-to-staff school or who want to teach minority students.

Minority Teachers of Illinois (MTI) Scholarship


(undergraduate and graduate)

This scholarship was created for African American/Black, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native American undergraduate and graduate students who want to teach preschool, elementary or secondary education.

Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois Award

Created to assist students of the traditionally underrepresented groups with demonstrated financial need who want to complete their graduate studies at an Illinois institution of higher education. The award is designed to diversify the faculties and professional staffs at higher education institutions in the state.

The Wasie Scholarship Program

Susan Wyatt Memorial WIM Scholarship
