The Office of Field Experiences (OFE) is responsible for the oversight of NCE collaborations with area schools and school districts that host teacher education students. The OFE recognizes that school practitioners and university faculty have a joint responsibility for preparing aspiring educators. We believe that teacher training must include quality teaching experiences in a variety of diverse learning communities.
Teacher observations and student teaching, important components of our clinical program, are designed to provide teacher candidates with opportunities to view the entire scope of teaching, while fulfilling state licensure requirements. These experiences will assist the teacher candidates in developing the skills and confidence necessary for effectiveness in the classroom. Facilitating quality placements for observations and student teaching is the primary responsibility of our Field Experience Managers.
