Health Care Leadership
NATIONAL-LOUIS UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR of SCIENCE in HEALTH CARE LEADERSHIP (HCL)
The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Leadership (HCL) is an accelerated undergraduate program designed for working adults whose primary focus is health care. The HCL program is especially suited to those who wish to enhance career opportunities by developing proficiencies in management, supervision, leadership and education.
NATIONAL-LOUIS UNIVERSITY (NLU) offers students who complete an Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.), or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Leadership (HCL) with full recognition of the Associate degree earned, except for degree programs in which more than 60 QH (40 SH) of technical credit is required. All required courses in the A.A., A.S. or A.A.S. degree will apply to the Bachelor’s degree. Students who do not complete the A.A., A.S. or A.A.S. degree will have all previous college work evaluated on a course-by-course basis.
UNIVERSITY ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale on all previous coursework.
- Be licensed, registered or certified in a health care profession, or
- Employed in a health related field.
- Submit a list of at least two references that can verify education, work experience and character.
PROGRAM REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
- Completion of a minimum of 60 SH (90 QH) is required in order to begin the HCL major.
ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENT
- Writing and math assessments will be administered at the time of initial enrollment in the HCL major. These assessments are used for advising purposes.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE HEALTH CARE LEADERSHIP (HCL) MAJOR: 48 QH (32 SH)
- All courses in the HCL Program must be completed at NLU.
- No courses are permitted to be transferred into the major.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
To graduate with a bachelor’s degree from National-Louis University, all students must successfully complete a minimum of 180 QH (120 SH) consisting of courses in general education, the program major, electives and any additional program requirements.
