Most classes at NLU have fewer than 20 students—and our faculty teach all of our classes. U.S. News and World Report ranked NLU fifth in the country for our high number of small classes. For some programs, you'll even take classes with the same students— giving you a built-in support system.
Really affordable.
Each year we award more than $3 million in merit and need based aid to undergraduate transfer students— including all qualifying students with a transfer GPA of 3.25 or higher. Financial aid is also available so you can take classes at your community college and NLU at the same time. And certain courses you may need to complete your degree may be offered at a reduced tuition rate.

Our new Undergraduate Academic Advising Center will help you get on the fast track for your four-year degree even before you leave your community college. Our advisors will help you put together an academic timeline so that you can earn your degree as quickly as possible.

Depending upon your program, you can get credit for past college-level classes. That includes students who graduated from a community college with an A.A.S. degree. Our transfer guides, available online, list our general education core course requirements and how courses completed at the community college will apply to the bachelor's degree.

We'll lay out your academic schedule in advance so that you can go from A.A./A.S./A.A.S. to B.A./B.S. to MBA/M.Ed./MAT/M.A./M.S. in the least amount of time. But why stop there? Maybe an Ed.D. is also in your future.

Our new Virtual Career Center is an online network that lets you register for jobs listed by employers and access a library with more than 90 downloadable guides to everything from careers to individual companies. You can also practice for the real thing with the Perfect Interview—interactive software that lets you rehearse and polish your skills before you get that call from a potential employer to come in and talk.
Really good services.
- At NLU's nationally recognized Center for Academic Development (CAD), undergraduate students can get individual tutoring in a variety of subjects during the day, evenings and weekends. You can also get help preparing for tests and making in-class presentations.
- At NLU's Student Counseling Service, get free short-term counseling to help you handle personal issues such as family problems, stress management and anxiety.
- Our International Students Services Office is authorized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to issue student visas.
- NLU's Ombudsperson helps NLU students get issues and problems resolved in and out of the classroom.
- Student Health Services provides information on immunization compliance, health and wellness outreach educational displays, and health fairs.
