We request your assistance in identifying and securing high-caliber commencement speakers for each of the 128th National Louis University commencement ceremonies. In 2014, the ceremonies will be held on the following dates:
- Wisconsin: May 30, 2014 at 7:30 pm
- Florida: June 6, 2014 at 7:00 pm
- Illinois NCE: June 21, 2014 at 10:00 am
- Illinois CAS & CMB: June 21, 2014 at 2:30 pm
In addition to a main speaker and a student speaker for each ceremony, we are also seeking musically talented students to sing the national anthem at the two Illinois ceremonies.
The forms to nominate a commencement speaker, honorary degree, student speaker and national anthem singer are available below
Commencement Main Speaker nominations are due Friday, February 28, 2014. If you are nominating a commencement speaker, we ask that you be willing and able to assist the committee in contacting the nominee.
Nominations for Student Speakers and Singers are due Friday, April 4, 2014. Auditions will be scheduled in April for nominees to provide a sample of their speech or singing to the committee.
Please try to be as detailed as you can in responding to the items and questions, as the information you provide is used by the committee to make their decisions. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or mail all nominations to Danielle Laban, Director of Student Experience, Chicago campus.
The nominations group of the Commencement Speaker and Honorary Degree Recipients Committee, which will be comprised of representatives from the Faculty Senate, Student Affairs and Institutional Advancement, will review the nominations and make recommendations for both speaker and honorary degree recipients.
Please note that honorary degree recommendations will be reported to the Faculty Senate and must be sent to the Board of Trustees for approval in April 2014.
Thank you for your participation in this important activity.
