National Louis University is composed of two separate colleges. The National College of Education prepares teachers and educational administrators, while the College of Professional Studies and Advancement contains three different schools, offering degree programs in a wide variety of fields.

National College of Education – has a long-standing reputation of distinction for its education programs. Since 1886, NLU has trained thousands of teachers and administrators and continues to graduate the majority of winners honored by Illinois’ two Golden Apple Foundations with one of the most prestigious teaching and leadership honors in the state.
College of Professional Studies and Advancement – Offers holistic professional preparation and contemporary academic experience for students through its three schools:
- The School of Business and Management — Offers a real-world, practical business education from instructors who are industry experts and innovative business professionals.
- The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences – Prepares students to improve our society through careers in psychology, criminal justice, public policy and similar fields.
- The School of Health and Human Services – Produces leaders in counseling, human services and health care administration who are motivated to achieve professionally in growing fields that meet the health or emotional needs of people.
